success!  We raised close to $10,000!

Spinal cord injury is a condition that affects a large number of Americans.  The degree of paralysis resulting from spinal cord injury depends on which part of the spinal cord
is injured.  

•        Injury to the lower region of the spinal cord can cause loss of control of leg muscles (called paraplegia).  Injury to the neck and shoulder area may result in paralysis of
both the arms and the legs (called tetraplegia or quadriplegia).

•        Every 41 minutes another person sustains a spinal cord injury.  Currently there are at least 450,000 Americans living with a spinal cord injury and more than 13,000
additional injuries are sustained each year.

•        More than half of those injured are between the ages of 16-30.
